Statement of intent
STATEMENT OF INTENT: I intend to make my magazine front covers and contents pages aesthetically similar to keep my overall design fluent for publisher Conde Nast. I will make sure that I use young adult models of a variety of genders to ensure that the target audience of 16–25-year-olds are engaged. My 80’s fashion style magazine will somewhat contradict the traditional codes and conventions of the magazines that Conde Nast publish due to the fact that I will intend to replicate teen fashion magazines published in the 80s which focused on the use of bright colours and stylish fonts instead of traditional sans serif coverlines. Despite this, I still feel as if my magazine will be engaging to the briefs target audience as a result of them being middle and up market meaning they have enough disposable income to engage in historical fashion trends and treat the pieces of clothing promoted in my magazine as somewhat of a collector's item.
